MB Real Estate (MBRE) is proud to announce that 150 North Wacker has earned the WELL Health-Safety Rating from the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI). To achieve the WELL Health-Safety Rating, 150 North Wacker underwent a year-long assessment of its operational procedures and maintenance protocols by independent industry experts. The WELL Health-Safety Rating signifies that the owners and management team of 150 North Wacker are committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for staff, tenants and visitors alike.

“150 North Wacker is amongst the leaders in building health and safety in the Chicago Business District,” said MBRE Senior Vice President, Asset Management and Investments Walter Hennig. “The WELL Health-Safety Rating helps the outside world identify what I’ve always known, that 150 North Wacker has prioritized health and safety since the very beginning of the pandemic.”

“As anyone can tell you, there was no roadmap in the early days of the pandemic,” noted 150 North Wacker General Manager Ted Crowe. “We all worked diligently and pivoted as new information and guidance was given. I’m proud that the safety measures prioritized by 150 North Wacker ownership has been recognized by leading professionals to meet the highest safety standards.”

150 North Wacker is a premier office building along the Chicago River in the West Loop. Aside from beautiful views of the river, the building provides tenants with flexible floor plate sizes ideal for growing businesses, parking amenities, a Peloton gym, and tenant access to a sunny riverside lounge with an outdoor terrace. Efforts to curb coronavirus infections at 150 North Wacker have included improved airflow filtering, hygienic handwashing practices with a focus on high-touch surfaces, coronavirus symptom screening, the creation of robust emergency preparedness and response plans, water systems monitoring and testing, and more.

The WELL Health-Safety Rating was designed to inspire confidence in those returning to businesses big and small. This rating indicates that the 150 North Wacker management team can safely guide tenants back into their workspaces. The IWBI Task Force that assigns the rating leverages knowledge from the World Health Organization, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other global disease control and prevention centers to push a framework for advancing health in buildings and other spaces. 150 North Wacker now meets requirements influenced by the world’s leading infectious disease experts to safely repopulate its iconic building and fight future breakouts of COVID-19 and other respiratory infections.
